Viewpoints

The Park offers several signed viewpoints so as to discover the peaks, the landscapes, and the flora and fauna to be watched in the area.

From the viewpoints  el Mirador de Alhama, La Cabaña, Huerta Espuña, La Perdiz, Barranco de Leyva, Collado Bermejo, Collado Mangueta, Collado El Pilón, Corazón de Jesús y la Virgen Blanca, you will enjoy the wind blowing  on top of the mountains, or the birds singing in the orchards; a breathtaking image of the Park you will take with you.

Alhama Viewpoint

Beautiful views of the farming areas of Alhama with mountain ranges on both side: Sierra de la Muela to the left and Sierra de Carrascoy to the right.

Collado Bermejo Viewpoint

This viewpoint located in Totana offers one of the best panoramic views of the whole Sierra Espuña given that it is 1,201 metres high. It is an obligatory stopover when going up to Morrón de Espuña and Los Pozos de la Nieve; an opportunity to see beautiful places such as Cerro de la Garita, both sides to Peña Apartada, and of course the deep and green Valley of the River Espuña. Los Barrancos de Gebas can also be seen in the background, Morrón de Espuña to the north and Barranco de Enmedio, El Purgatorio and Pedro López Hill to the west.

Collado Magueta Viewpoint

From this viewpoint in Totana you will find fabulous views of Pozos de la Nieve, Murcia to the right and Cartagena to the left, as well as magnificent places such as Pinos Blancos  and Barrancos de Malvariche and La Hoz, two of the main cliffs leading to River Pliego. Moreover we can appreciate the houses in Prado Mayor. It is worth mentioning that on Pedro López pathway there are two wells which have been restored and one of them can be visited. On clear days, we can see Sierra de Cambrón to the north

Collado Pilón Viewpoint

This viewpoint located in Totana offers views of the south-west part of Sierra Espuña. It is half way up from Las Alquerías to Collado Bermejo, at 1,065 metres. From here, you can observe Barranco de Ballesteros, Las Alquerías and Aledo with its majestic castle tower and Sierra de la Tercia in the background. We can see Pedro López peak to the North and Cerro de los Albaricoqueros to the West.

Barrancos de Gebas Viewpoint

To see this breathtaking scenery, we will go down along the east part of Sierra Espuña to the locality of Gebas where there is a viewpoint from which this beautiful place can be seen. It is a desert-like space, a lunar landscape or badlands, composed by gullies, canyons and cliffs creating a spectacular spot. With 2,271 hectares, the most interesting feature is its geomorphological structure, originally formed by the main influence of water flows and the loamy nature of the terrain. Its fauna is steppe-like, with rodants and small mammals. As for the flora, it is what can typically be found in chalk steppe areas.

Corazón de Jesús Viewpoint

This viewpoint located in Totana can be accessed using either the pathway or the road. Villanueva and Ulea can be seen from this spot. The whole Guadalentín Valley can be observed and on clear days, even the beaches of Mazarrón can be reached. At nights, the Christ which is illuminated, can be seen from any point of the locality of Totana.
