Recreation Areas

Recreation areas are located throughout the Park, well marked and thought for recreation and encountering with nature. All of them have tables and benches, waste containers and some have fountains dispensing non-potable water.

Recreation areas to be found within the Park are:

Balsa Grande

There are 5 picnic tables, some are accessible for people with reduced mobility, car park (not delimited spaces), and an organic waste container.

There are two pathways nearby: Senda Las Alquerías SL-MU 2 and Sendero del Purgatorio PR-MU 61 / PR-MU 62-62.1.

Las Alquerías aqueduct is also very close.

Casa Leiva

There are 5 picnic tables, car park (not delimited spaces) and waste containers.

The pathway El Berro is very close: PR-MU-79 / PR_MU 41 / PR-MU 57 Gr-252

Campamento de Exploradores

There are 10 picnic tables, one of them adapted for people with reduced mobility, marked car park (not delimited spaces), an organic waste cointainer and another one for plactic.

There are two pathways: Sendero de la Umbría de Peña Apartada PR-MU-59 and Sendero de Ricardo Codonriú SL-MU-1.

There is also a restaurant nearby and next to it, some rest roms are available, being one of them adapted for disabled people..


Fuente del Hilo

There are 9 picnic tables, one of them adapted for people with reduced mobility, 2 marked parking areas (with 2 spaces for people with reduced mobility) and 3 organic waste containers, one for cardboard, another one for plastic and one more for glass.

Access to the pathway Sendero de Ricardo Codorniú SL-MU-1.

There is a restaurant nearby and there are rest rooms available next to it, being one of them adapted for disabled people.

La Perdiz

Located on both sides of the road; one with 5 tables and the other with 7, with 2 tables adapted for people with reduced mobility. It counts on marked parking area, though spaces are not delimited, and 2 organic waste containers and another one for plastic.

From here the pathway Senda del Dinosaurio begins and there is access to both pathways Sendero Valle de Leiva-Collado Mangueta PR-MU-57 and Senda de los 7 Hermanos PR-Mu-41.

There is a restaurant nearby and rest rooms (run by the restaurant) being one of them adapted for disabled people.

There is also a fountain with non-potable water nearby.

Las Alquerías

Located on both sides of the road; one with 5 tables and the other with 7, with 2 tables adapted for people with reduced mobility. It counts on marked parking area, though spaces are not delimited, and 2 organic waste containers and another one for plastic.

From here the pathway Senda del Dinosaurio begins and there is access to both pathways Sendero Valle de Leiva-Collado Mangueta PR-MU-57 and Senda de los 7 Hermanos PR-Mu-41.

Fuente de la Portuguesa

There are 6 picnic tables, being one of them adapted for people with reduced mobility, parking area (although the spaces are not delimited) and 2 organic waste containers.

There is a fountain with non-potable water and a trough with water from the fountain source

El Ángel (recreation area of municipal management: Totana Townhall).

There are 23 picnic tables with public barbecue grilling place (6 units), parking area, 4 organic waste containers and 2 more for glass.

It has access to the pathway Sendero Mirador del Corazón de Jesús SL-MU 3, a viewpoint and La Santa Sanctuary nearby.

There is regular bus service Totana-Aledo stopping at La Santa Sanctuary.

El Grifo (recreation area of municipal management: Totana Townhall)

There are 13 picnic tables, public barbecue grilling place (3 units), parking area and 2 organic waste containers, one for glass and another one for paper. It also counts on a fountain with potable water.

Rest rooms are closed on week days and in July and August.

It has access to the pathway Sendero de la Santa PR-MU 64 and it is close to La Santa Sanctuary.

There is regular bus service Totana-Aledo stopping at La Santa Sanctuary.
