BTT in the Park
If you are keen to get to know Sierra Espuña and its surroundings by bike, you can do it thanks to the different routes available with a range of levels depending on difficulty, terrain gradient and so on. Here you can choose the route which suits you better.
Espubike
What is Espubike?
An enormous tourist resource which allows you to enjoy the most emblematic nature space in the Region of Murcia by bicycle. It is especially designed for you to get delighted by the breathtaking nature in Sierra Espuña, its culture, its towns and villages, as well as its services and the recreation areas within the Park. The route runs surrunding the Park mainly and when getting into the heart of the Park, it is along paths which are perfectly adapted to bikes. You can choose between doing it on freely or registering in Espubike Challenge on our website.
Espubike Challenge
There are two ways to do the route: freely or officially (Espubike Challenge).
As for the latter, Espuñaturística, the entity in charge of its management, will give a Espubike cycling jersey to those who finish the route.
In order to do the route officially, It is necessary to get registered in the website and get your passport stamped as you pass the checking points along the route. Such passports are given at the beginning of the route at Sierra Espuña Campsite in El Berro. Moreover, the cyclists who have registered will be given a Espubike T-shirt and a routeplanner.
Both the free cyclists and the official ones are provided with all the information needed on this website, so that to plann the route appropriately: detailed sketch and maps of the routes, gradients, tracks and routeplanner to get downloaded, and registration form.
On the registration form, there are different services that are available for you to apply for: a guide, luggage transportation, GPS, bike rental, technical assistance during the route, and accommodation.
Registration
By registering, you can book a wide variety of resouces at your disposal, as well as requesting information on accommodation and other services available varying depending on the number of cyclists and companions, the route sections selected and the dates.
Bike rental
Espubike offers you the possibility of renting professional bikes in perfect condition. Make the request on your registration form and we will inform you about availability.
GPS rental
You can easily download your selected tracks on your mobile or GPS, however if you prefer a Garmin GPS with the tracks already integrated, make the request on your registration form.
Go-Pro camera rental
If you are not just a cyclist and nature lover, but also an artist, a Go-Pro camera is at your disposal, or a similar one, to record your experience and develop your creativity.
Technical assistance during your route
in case of having any technical issue during your route, you can apply for our technical assistance service or substitution/rental bikes in case of a non-repairable malfunction.
Guide service
Ideal when getting started in this sport. A guide will cycle along with you during the route who will even let you know about other adapted alternatives.
Baggage transportation
Don´t worry about transferring your baggage to the next accommodation. Leave it on us. We will make sure that your stuff is treated with every possible care and kindness.
Espubike accommodation
Espubike counts on an accommodation net which are associated with the route: rural hostelries, houses and campsite. Make the request on your registration form we will try to offer the best option depending on your needs and availability.
Espubike Menu
Reserve your Espubike Menu offered by Espuñaturística restaurants in El Berro, Gebas and Casas Nuevas. Restore your energy and get delighted by tradiitional food at a special price for you.
Insurance
We don´t recommend doing the route without insurance. Cyclists who are members of the Federation alrady count on insurance which covers in case of accident during the route. If you hire it, the price per person will depend on the number of days of coverage.
Free or official modalities
If you are willing to subscribe to Espubike Challenge for the entire route, you will be given a passport to get stamped along the route, a routeplanner, the Espubike T-shirt and, in case you finish it, the Espubike Challenge jersey. The price is 40€.
