Immerse yourself in an unforgettable getaway through the soul of Sierra Espuña, a magical corner where history, nature and culture intertwine in a unique way. Day 1 Mula, hystory and wellcome.

Arrive in Mula, the cultural heart of Sierra Espuña. After settling into your accommodation, begin exploring its impressive historical heritage. 

Start with a visit to the El Cigarralejo Museum, home to one of the most important collections of Iberian art in Spain. 

Stroll through the historic centre, full of cobbled streets and stately homes. Be sure to visit the City Museum of Mula, the Casa Pintada (Painted House) and the Church of San Miguel, true architectural treasures.

In the evening, enjoy a local dinner with traditional dishes such as rice with rabbit, in a restaurant we have reserved for you.

Day 2 Alhama de Murcia, Librilla and Totana.

In the morning, head to Alhama de Murcia. Its Moorish castle, perched on top of a hill, offers spectacular views. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Los Baños, and discover the Roman and Moorish thermal baths. 

Next, travel to Librilla and marvel at the Ravines of Gebas, a natural formation of incomparable beauty. Afterwards, on your own, enjoy a picnic or meal at one of the many restaurants along the way. In the afternoon, we propose you explore Totana, famous for its pottery tradition. 

Walk through the neighborhood of Las Ollerías, with its many ceramic workshops, and climb up to the Sanctuary of the Saint, a peaceful place surrounded by nature that combines art and spirituality. If you have time, visit the Pozos de la Nieve ice houses. 

It’s time to return to home base in Mula and enjoy a fine dinner on your own. You have earned it. And rest up, because tomorrow, our journey continues.

Day 3 Aledo and Pliego: The discovery.

The day begins by heading out to Aledo. Make sure to bring provisions for a picnic lunch. 

This charming medieval town, with its narrow cobbled streets, has a lot to offer. Visit the Torre del Homenaje, a towering symbol of the town’s history, and the church of Santa María la Real. 

You could stroll the path of the Sendero de la Santa and enjoy a picnic in the middle of nature. 

Then, turn back towards Pliego to explore the archaeological site of La Almoloya, with its vestiges of a unique civilization.

Another option is to visit the medieval settlement of Barranco de la Mota. But, be sure to visit the Almazara Museum and the Sima de la Higuera Interpretation Centre. 

A splendid day, but now it’s time to return to Mula for a fine, replenishing dinner, followed by a walk, and then, it’s off to bed.

Day 4 Farewell in Mula.

Explore more hidden corners of Mula. Take a walk through the old town of Mula, a series of streets, layouts and buildings that took shape during the period of hegemony of Muslim culture in Mula and Sierra Espuña. Declared a National Historic-Artistic Site in 1981.
